Adult Social Care level 3 is based on the practical support that is given to someone to help them to live independently. This is often provided in a person's home or a care home.

Our Level 3 Adult Social Care qualification can allow your to progress into a multitude of higher care roles.

For example, upon completion you will be well equipped to carry out duties as a care worker. You will have gained an in-depth knowledge and understanding to support individuals with their everyday life; which may include helping them to wash cook or clean.

Other roles this qualification could support you with include:

  • Personal assistant – you’ll support individuals to live as independently as they can, by supporting them throughout the community.
  • Advocacy worker – you’ll help give the most vulnerable in society a voice to ensure that they receive a high level of care.
  • Activities worker – you will help to improve your residents quality of life by planning activities and events for the residents to enjoy.

As you continue to build your experience within a care home, this qualification could become a gateway for higher training or further roles. 

For example, once you have gained our level 3, you could undertake further leadership training to enable you to progress into a managerial role or supervisory role. Through this you will be supervising over other members of staff to ensure that your residents receive the highest quality of care.

Level 3 qualifications are equivalent to an A Level. If you are interested in learning new skills, this could be best for you. It is more in depth than a level 2 and can be useful for breaking into new roles. 

Once you sign up for a course, you should receive notification via email (check junk) and SMS with all your enrolment information. You will need to complete all the required forms, you may be asked (via email) to complete a short English and maths test to continue your enrolment process. Once you have completed all entry requirements, you will be on course. You will be introduced to your designated tutor, who will answer all your questions about course content and any general queries. 

Funding is based on the government and certain areas that colleges may be based in. If your area currently doesn’t have funding this usually means that either the college has overallocated students to their courses or the area falls in a region where government funds aren’t currently supplied to colleges in that particular area.
