Functional Skills English Component:

Reading – This Functional Skills Level 2 English module looks at reading for information, including looking at biased pieces of work and will help you to work out how much the opinions of certain authors can be trusted. It also looks at the different types of layout features and how these can impact the reader. All of the reading skills that you will look at will be tested in quizzes at the end of each section, followed by an assessor-marked assignment, ensuring that you are ready to sit your final exam
Writing – This Functional Skills Level 2 English curriculum examines appropriate writing techniques for specific pieces. This could contain, among other things, emails, blogs, newspaper articles, and letters. You'll also be tested on your grammar, punctuation, and spelling in this module.
